Escape to Mazatlan, The "Pearl Of The Pacific"

Mazatlan has been a tourist destination since the 40s when Olas Altas beach became popular with the then rich and famous. By the 50s was a playground for John Wayne and other movie stars and then in the late 60s the new Zona Dorada, the Gold Zone to the north, was developed with new resort hotels, condos and shopping centers.

Old Mazatlan, now known as the Centro Historico (Historical Center) has become pupular again, mostly with people who prefer an option to the usual tourist resorts.
