A quiet space to relax. The plaza in front of the
Cathedral provides a shady spot to sit and
read the paper on a cool morning.
Unlike most churches in Mexico Mazatlan's Cathedral with its Gothic exterior shows little sign of Spanish influence. The interior is a patchwork of design with its two altars decorated in the baroque style.
The jewel of the cathedral is the extraordinary organ built in Paris by the manufacturer Arístides Cavaillie coll (1811-1899)
To visit, walk south from the Mazatlan Central Market one block.
